It’s always an exciting time when we put together our list of destinations for the new year. CN Traveller’s list of the best places to go in 2020 looked for the big reasons to visit destinations and of the list of 20 are 3 African destinations: Botswana’s Makgadikgadi salt pans (the remains of an ancient super-lake—a salt-encrusted expanse covering more than 6,200 square miles of the Kalahari Desert); Rwanda has made exceptional strides in building itself into a place that celebrates and protects its natural resources with the development of its fourth national park, Gishwati Mukura, set to open next year and Morocco which has been viewed as a long weekend destination for a while now and the momentum isn’t slowing down. Casablanca has a shiny new airport and has recently doubled its capacity to 14 million a year. Next June, Royal Air Maroc joins Oneworld Alliance, which will make it much easier for those same travelers to connect to other destinations around Morocco.
